Seeking God all day
It is human nature to pursue earthly fame, reputation, prosperity, health, miracles, good seasons, and the like.
As you read this truth today ask yourself,
“What is my greatest pursuit in life?”
“What would I die for today to achieve?”
“Where are all my efforts going?”
If God is none of these answers, we then need to have a different spirit today. We need our spirits renewed so as to seek after God like never before. Because he alone is our essence of being.
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17:27-30)
God testified of king David saying that “I have found a man after my own heart”. That is, David was not seeking a feeling, an excitement, a miracle, a blessing, a temporal fame, all of which are desirable in this life.
From his youth, David was seeking after God in “person”.
Desire today to go an extra mile of faith, to seek God with all your heart, soul, mind and might. And do not stop until you find Him.
Who is God? He is not a wind, a fire, a feeling or a miracle that you are desperately in need of. He is a person!
The miracles you are desperately searching will fade away. But He will remain with you and in you for eternity.
When you find Him, He has all you need and you will never lack.
May we change our focus today, may we repent of spending our efforts seeking vanities of this life.
May we purpose in our renewed spirits to seek God with all our hearts and might. For He holds all that we are in need of in this life and even in life to come.
Pray with me this prayer of faith:
Loving Father, I am in pursuit of vanities of this life. I repent of my ways. From today hence forth, as long as I live, I purpose with my whole heart to seek you, not earthly things , but you Almighty God.
That I may live and walk with you every day of my life, beholding your presence and your glory.
As the Scripture says, cause me to seek You early and enable me to dwell in your presence the rest of my life.
Set me apart from satan, sin and the world. Make me holy today, that I may be pleasing before you all day long.
Thank you Father, for Jesus Christ your Son and for your Holy Spirit who will help me to seek you daily, enabling me to know you more and abiding in your presence day after day, and for eternity. Amen
